What feels TOO edgy/scary for you to explore deeper?
I had a VERY powerful somatic release today in a 1:1 coaching session (with Lorin Krenn – he works w/men & women & l felt SO safe to go DEEP & let a lot of intense energy move).
That’s the real healing & integration – fully GO THERE.
Let it surface. Observe it. Honor the raw energy moving, no filter, no holding back (obviously do it in a safe environment & with the right support if needed).
I learned this as a former massage therapist – the emotional issues/traumas get stored in the tissues unconsciously at a cellular level.
This is why somatic release is so important.
I did “talk therapy” style sessions for years & realized, esp with a background in bodywork/yoga, that healing happens in layers & there’s way more going on IN THE BODY.
Except most people are very disconnected from their body. Plus, the spiritual community may bypass the body in exchange for fantasy stories or addictions.
Ignoring the body is ignoring the human experience! We’re here to integrate our spiritual experience in our BODY.
Same with the dark emotions or s*xual energy we may repress/ignore – like the anger that arose in me today that was creating a sense of constriction in my throat lately.
He guided me through a straight up emotional release. I didn’t need much talking. I needed all that energy to fucking MOVE. WHEW
A huge weight lifted.
This is also why I’ve shifted away from “talking” into Embodiment work (we did some of this in Return of Venus), because it’s super easy to get stuck in the stories or “higher realms”
Unless you get INTO YOUR BODY with more presence/awareness, nothing really changes.
Part of true embodiment is going DEEP, to see yourself in these moments, to let yourself be witnessed.
You want deep love? Be compassionate to aspects of you that feel ugly, that you hide or reject.
You want deep intimacy? Go ALL the way into your own emotions – Especially the darker ones.
A LIFE HALF-LIVED ISN’T LIVING.
If I can support you, I offer 90 min Sensual Embodiment Coaching Sessions as well, where we spend some time talking, then time in a physical release.
