10 minute Guided Meditation on Self-Care (focus on “Metta” or Loving Kindness towards yourself)

The focus for this meditation is bringing love and awareness to how you care for yourself. We’ll move through some self-care mantras and also notice and release any self-criticism/judgment or resistance towards self-care/feeling good in general.

Mett? or maitr? means benevolence, loving-kindness, friendliness, amity, good will, and active interest in others. It is the first of the four sublime states and one of the ten p?ram?s of the Therav?da school of Buddhism. The cultivation of benevolence is a popular form of Buddhist meditation.

OPTIONAL PROPS: A blanket or pillow (to elevate the hips if necessary or if it feels good)
